  •  Information and Communication Technology.

Computer Lab

  •  A well-equipped Computer lab with 15 computers having accessible screen reading softwares such as JAWS and NVDA.
  • Students can do their assignments, access internet and also read books and materials on these computers.
  • Around 50-70 students use this computer lab every day.

 

Scanning and Accessible reading                                                 

  • Advance camera scanners at EOC for reading print books by the visually impaired.
  • Scanning and e-text conversion of print books is also done through these scanners.
  • Around 5000 soft-copy e-text books available with EOC.
  • More than 3000 accessible format books with the Braille Library.                    
  • 46 colleges and 14 departments given advance camera scanners by the EOC to develop print accessible libraries.

 Volunteers

  • Need based support to students with disabilities provided by volunteers.        
  • Volunteers paid a token honorarium for their help in reading, writing, library reference and other requirements of students with disabilities, particularly the visually-impaired.

Limited Transport Facilities

  • Three accessible vehicles of EOC help students with disabilities in transportation from nearby hostels to the university campus and nearby colleges.
  • More than 70 students helped through this service everyday. 

 

Promoting Sports for PwDs

  • Annual sports event– Udaan, for students with disabilities.
  • Participation of nearly 300 PwD students every year.
  • Around 80 field and track events such as Shot put, Javelin throw, Discus throw, Long jump, etc. are conducted.
